What Is Krillion? A Daily Word Game for Curious Minds
You know an answer. Can you think of a different one? Meet the free browser game that turns a little curiosity into a deep-sea adventure.

What is Krillion?
Krillion is a free, open-answer word and knowledge game played in your browser. A prompt names a category. You supply one example that belongs to it. Instead of choosing from multiple-choice options or guessing a hidden word one letter at a time, you search your own memory for an answer.
The twist is what happens next: a rare, recognized answer can earn more points and carry your submarine farther below the surface. Familiar answers still count when they fit, but a less obvious valid idea may turn a routine question into the best moment of your dive.
Play the original game at https://krillion.me/unlimited. Krillion Daily Dive is a seven-round shared challenge; Krillion Unlimited offers a longer run when seven questions are not enough.
The ocean gives the game its setting. A small submarine, pixel lettering, drifting sea life and a depth scale turn your score into a journey. You do not need a specialist subject to start: prompts span everyday things, food, animals, places, sport and other familiar parts of the world.
What your first Krillion dive feels like
Open Daily and select Begin Descent. Each round starts with a short preview, then a 25-second answer window. Read the whole prompt, type one clear name and send it with the on-screen button or Enter. There is no need for an essay: the game needs the answer itself.
For example, a category might ask for something that floats on water. A boat is an understandable first thought. That familiar choice can be accepted, while another recognized example may sit in a deeper rarity tier. The interesting decision is how far to explore your memory before the clock runs out.

Daily includes one optional hint per Beijing calendar day. It shows three recognized examples at different depths and does not reduce your score. If a prompt is unclear, a hint can help you understand the kind of answer the category is asking for. Unlimited has no hint.
You review the result before moving on. There is time to see the recognized name, rarity tier, points and explanation, rather than immediately racing into another prompt. For the complete rules, read how to play Krillion.
Rare answers reward a different way of thinking
Krillion uses six editorial rarity tiers. At the familiar end is Plankton; the deepest recognized tier is One in a Krillion. Think of these as the game’s scoring categories. They are not live survey results, and the game does not claim to have measured the worldwide popularity of every response.
Accuracy comes first. An obscure word that does not fit the prompt is not a clever answer. A useful approach is to notice your first idea, then ask whether you know a more specific, regional or less famous example that still clearly belongs. Submit the choice you can stand behind.

The screenshot above shows a real accepted answer: Boat earns 10 points in the Plankton tier and takes the submarine to 100 metres. It is an example of that answer in that prompt, rather than a promise that the same word will be accepted or score identically in every category.
The answer catalog contains reviewed names and aliases. As with any finite list, a real-world example may be missing. Check the exact wording of the question and use the contact page to report an omission. Include the prompt and the answer you expected to work so the issue can be reviewed.
A short Daily, a long Unlimited, or a world of your own
Choose the kind of session you have time for. Daily gives everyone the same seven prompts for the Beijing calendar day, with a new challenge at midnight (UTC+8). Unlimited removes the daily wait and lets you work through the current 528-prompt bank.
| Mode | What to expect | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Dive | Seven shared prompts; one Daily Hint | Shared daily challenge |
| Unlimited | A longer, 528-prompt challenge; no hint | Play Unlimited |
| Themed worlds | Chapters focused on a subject you choose | Choose a world |
| Noillirk | Common answers and a skyward journey | Begin a flight |
The themed worlds include Books, Movies, Basketball, Geography, Food and Chinese New Year. Pick a subject you enjoy and explore it across replayable chapters.

You can start as a guest. Public leaderboards use generated aliases, so you can compare results without creating a public personal profile. Keep using the same browser to retain local history and preferences; clearing site data or switching devices can affect those records. Account options are available separately.
Meet Noillirk: the familiar-answer flight
Noillirk is Krillion spelled backwards, and its journey turns upward too. Your submarine becomes a spaceship, the ocean becomes a forest and sky, and the scoring favors familiar answers in reviewed lists. It is a different instinct with the same simple pleasure of naming something that fits.
Visit https://krillion.me/noillirk for seven Daily rounds, or https://krillion.me/noillirk/unlimited for the separate 400-question Unlimited mode. Both start when you select Begin Flight.
In Noillirk Daily, finishing all seven rounds takes you from the forest floor through wind, rain and storm clouds to the sun and rainbow. Altitude follows progress, while points measure your answers. A pass or timeout earns no points but still lets you continue the journey.
Read our illustrated How to Play Noillirk guide for the controls, scoring, Daily reset and differences between the two flight modes. Noillirk rankings are separate from your Krillion dive scores.
Questions before you dive
Where can I play Krillion?
Play the official Krillion Unlimited game at https://krillion.me/unlimited for a longer dive, or visit https://krillion.me/noillirk for the common-answer flight game.
Is Krillion free, and do I need to download an app?
Krillion is free to play in a supported web browser. You can start as a guest without downloading an app or creating an account.
Are rare answers based on a player survey?
No. Recognized answers use editorial rarity tiers. These are reviewed game-design choices, not live percentages from a survey of players.
How is Noillirk different from Krillion?
Krillion rewards less obvious valid answers and sends a submarine deeper. Noillirk rewards familiar answers from its reviewed lists and takes a spaceship upward. Their scores and leaderboards are separate.
Start with one answer
You do not have to know every subject or find the rarest answer on your first try. Read the category, choose a name that fits and see where the submarine takes you. Tomorrow brings a fresh seven-question Daily; Unlimited and the themed worlds are there whenever you want to keep exploring.
